Germany, Imperial. A Wound Badge, Silver Grade
(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an crimped and elongated barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked, measuring 39.18 mm (w) x 42.34 mm (h), weighing 9.2 grams, with moderate oxidation evident, in overall very fine condition.
