Germany, Imperial. An 1813 Iron Cross, Museum Display Piece
(Eisernes Kreuz 1813, Museum Ausstellungsstück). Constructed of silvered and blackened lead, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with three central oak leaves with acorns, the six o’clock arm with an institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, with a suspension loop, unmarked, measuring 145 mm (w) x 168 mm (h), a hole has been stamped through the three o’clock arm and some loss of finish is evident, otherwise in better than very fine condition.
