Germany, Imperial. An First War & China Service Medal Bar

(Erster Weltkrieg Ordensschnalle). An extensive First War period medal bar featuring six decorations, including a 1914 Iron Cross Second Class, (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse), instituted by Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III on 17 March 1813, reinstituted by Kaiser Wilhelm II on 5 August 1914 (1914-1918 issue), constructed of silver with a blackened magnetic iron core, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a ribbed frame, the obverse with a central raised initial of “W”, with a royal crown on the twelve o’clock arm and a reinstitution date of “1914” on the six o’clock arm, the reverse with central raised oak leaves, with a royal crown and initials of “FW” on the twelve o’clock arm, and an initial institution date of “1813” on the six o’clock arm, unmarked, measuring 42.65 mm (w) x 45.65 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition; a Baden Silver Medal of Merit (Silberne Verdienstmedaille), constructed of silver, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Friedrich II circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST” (“FOR MERIT”) within an oak leaf wreath, designer marked on obverse “R.M.” for Rudolf Mayer, measuring 38.15 mm in diameter, in better than very fine condition; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 (Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918), constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with central dates of “1914-1918” surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centre, the reverse with a maker’s mark of “32, R.V. Pforzheim”, the twelve o’clock with an integral ring bearing a loop, with “SOMME SCHLACHT” (“BATTLE OF THE SOMME”) clasp, measuring 38.06 mm (w) x 43.06 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a China Campaign Medal for Combatants, 1900-1901 (China-Denkmünze für Kämpfer, 1900-1901), constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse with a German national eagle grappling with a Chinese dragon inside of a laurel leaf border, the reverse with a raised monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II topped by a German State Crown, circumscribed by inscription of “DEN SIEGREICHEN STREITERN” (“THE VICTORIOUS COMBATANTS”) and dates of “1900-1901” alongside flanking “CHINA”, also inside of a laurel leaf border, with loop for suspension, with “HUOLU”, “FOUPHING”, and “LIAN-HSIANG-HSIEN” campaign clasps, unmarked, measuring 32.64 mm (w) x 35.55 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition; a Baden Reserve and Territorial Army Service Medal (Landwehr Dienstauszeichnung), constructed of gilded bronze, with loop for suspension, the obverse with royal monogram of Friedrich II inside of a laurel leaf wreath, the reverse with inscription of “Für treue Dienste in der Reserve und Landwehr” (“For Faithful Service in the Reverse and Territorial Army”), unmarked, measuring 24.90 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition, and; a Prussian Regimental Honour Cross (Regiments Ehrenkreuz), constructed of gilded bronze, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central Hohenzollern-style imperial eagle, the arms with inscription of “FÜR KAISER UND REICH” (“FOR EMPEROR AND EMPIRE”), the reverse with a central royal crown, the arms with inscription “MITT GOTT FÜR KÖNIG UND VATERLAND” (“WITH GOD FOR KING AND FATHERLAND”), the twelve o’clock ring with an integral ring and suspension loop, measuring 38.37 mm (w) x 43.06 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; all suspended from their period original ribbons, affixed to a 160 mm-long bar with dual vertical pinbacks, in extremely fine condition.
