A German dagger measuring 400 mm in length with the scabbard on, it features a 237 mm nickel-plated steel (magnetic) blade, the obverse ricasso is engraved “DOUAI 1914/16,” crossguard with quillon and pommel exhibiting light contact and wear, both plates of the grip are held in place by two rivets and central pins, accompanied by a metal (non-magnetic) and leather scabbard with frog stud, ball finial, single screw in the throat, in addition to a Bavarian portepee, and in overall fine condition.
