(Gürtelschnallen). A pair of First World War enlisted personnel belt buckles, including a German Heer EM/NCO’s buckle, constructed of partially silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised crown, within a ribbed ring bearing a raised inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) and laurel branches, the reverse with swivel attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in near extremely fine conditions, and; an Austro-Hungarian Army EM/NCO’s buckle, constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised double-headed Austrian national eagle clutching a sword and orb, overlaid by a national coat of arms, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 52 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
