Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Imperial. Die Württemberger im Weltkrieg, Ein Geschichts, Erinnerungs und Boltsbuch, 1924

(The Wurttembergers in the World War, A History and Memorial Book) by Lieutenant General Otto von Moser, documenting the participation of Wurttembergers during the First World War, along with the awards they achieved, published in Stuttgart in 1924, in hardcover, containing 784 pages, the text in German, printed in black ink, the text interspersed with detailed photos, charts and maps, along with multiple insert pages inserted at intervals throughout the book and incorporating various photos, some of which are colourized and not included in the 768 page total, measuring 24.5 cm (w) x 31.0 cm (h), the dust jacket exhibiting extensive edge wear, tearing and separation, however, the cover and text of the book itself remain unaffected, in near extremely fine condition.

Footnote: Christian Belser (1802-1885) founded the Belser printing and publishing house in Stuttgart in 1835. The business was sold to Carl Walcker in 1867 with his son, Carl Walcker Junior, as his partner. The published items consisted of prayer books, sermon books and edification literature of Protestant theology. In addition, they published Christian journals and weeklies, along with educational books. At the beginning of the twentieth century, regional literature on Stuttgart and Württemberg was added to the theological literature. Beginning in 1920, the company published more than fifty war stories of Württemberg troops in the series The Württemberg Regiments in the First World War. From 1960, the publishing house shifted its focus to art illustrated books and cultural history. Among others, the publisher published the Belser style history, a standard work in German-speaking art history. From 1983 to 1998, they published facsimile editions in collaboration with the Vatican Library of Book Treasures from their holdings. In 2010, there was an exhibition in the Württemberg State Library for the 175th anniversary. Regional interests continued to be a focal point, and in 2013, they acquired MünchenVerlag.
