Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Destroy War Badge, by Sohni, Heubach & Co.
(Zerstörerkriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central depiction of a destroyer cutting through waves, with its bow extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, topped by a stabilizing pin, maker marked with the logo of Sohni, Heubach & Co., Ider-Oberstein, the obverse demonstrates restoration of both the gilt and silver finish, while the reverse hardware has been replace and is now mirrored from its original configuration, in fair condition.
