Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Pair of 7 x 50 Artillery Binoculars, with Case, by Ernst Leitz

(Kriegsmarine Fernglas mit Etui). A well-preserved pair of Kriegsmarine binoculars, constructed of a tooled black alloy casing. The lens bodies are fully lined in a simulated black leather outer shell, retain fully-intact objective lenses, and are connected in the middle with a functional roller with dual hinges. Dual eye sockets retain intact glass fittings and functional adjustment dials. Stamped onto the left lens bodies is a mark of “7 x 50”, indicating 7 power magnification with 50 mm-diameter objective lenses, a manufacturer code of “BEH” for Ernst Leitz GmbH, Wetzlar, a serial number of “356342” (matching with the company’s known serial numbers for the given manufacture year). The right lens body is stamped with a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika above a letter “M”, indicating Kriegsmarine issue, flanked by an inscription of “ARTL.”, showing issue to naval artillery. Descending from the roller is a black bakelite lens cover, suspended from a spring which remains tight. The binoculars are accompanied by their original storage case, constructed of a multi-piece simulated black leather (Presstoff) shell. A retractable lid is secured in place with three leather straps affixed with magnetic metal rivet. An additional strap descends from the front of the lid and is perforated with a metal grommet which meets a stud that emanates from the side of the canister for secure closure. Additional studs set into the sides accommodate an original black leather carrying strap. Embossed onto the lid is a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika above a letter “M”, while the side bears a matching maker’s code of “BEH” and a manufacture date of “1942”. The binoculars measure 22 cm in length, while the case measures 20 cm (w) x 11 cm (l) x 31 cm (h). Issues consistent with age and use are evident, and include the loss of the binoculars’ neck strap and lens covers, scratching of the casing, and minor material fatigue throughout the case. A functional and matching set in overall better than very fine condition.
