Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Stopwatch in Original Carton, with Case, by Junghans
(Wehrmacht Stoppuhr). A well-preserved and functional Wehrmacht stopwatch, constructed of a patinated magnetic steel case, topped by a ring and functional push-button ribbed wind-up dial, the obverse featuring a white face with a 60 second dial graded in seconds and marked in intervals of 5, with an additional 30 second face situated at the top, marked “JUNGHANS” for the Schramberg-based watch- and clockmaker, measuring 50 mm in total diameter, accompanied by its original case of issues, of two-piece card stock construction, the lid bearing a full-colour Junghans logo, measuring 62 mm (w) x 62 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), surface oxidation is evident throughout the watch’s case and the presentation case demonstrates age-appropriate material fatigue, a functional example of a timepiece used by both Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe units in near extremely fine condition.
