(Fliegerschützenabzeichen). Constructed of die-struck magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie-style ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central raised German national eagle about to take off in flight, clutching a bullseye target, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, the reverse bearing illegible handwritten initials which are possibly an owner’s name, measuring 45.48 mm (w) x 73.62 mm (h), weighing 11.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
