Germany, Luftstreitkräfte. A Prussian Pilot’s Badge, with Recipient’s Name, by C.E. Juncker
(Flugzeugführerabzeichen). Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, etched with a recipient’s name of “LT. FESKE” and a date of “3. 9. 17”, maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, with a silver content number of “800”, and a crescent moon indicating German manufacture, measuring 45.47 mm (w) x 71.46 mm (h), weighing 30.0 grams, a rare personalized example of a Prussian-issued Pilot’s Badge in extremely fine condition.
