Germany, Luftwaffe. A 1941 Fallschirmjäger Parachute User’s Manual Signed by Eugen Meindl & Ernst Blauensteiner
(Fallschirme der Fallschirmtruppe Anwenderhandbuch). An extremely well-preserved Fallschirmjäger parachute user’s manual, this book contains 61 pages of information on use and maintenance of parachutes, including diagrams and black-and-white photographs. It also includes 16 unused pages of training and proficiency charts for the individual bearer. The inside of the front cover bears a handwritten inscription by Oberst Ernst Blauensteiner, Fallschirmjäger Knight’s Cross recipient, dated 2 April 1991 in Vienna. Blauensteiner confirms that Fallschirmjäger General Eugen Meindl’s signature appears on both the front cover and interior title page, the latter with a date of 25 January 1944. The book manual measures 148 mm (w) x 208 mm (h). Minor discolouration is evident to the exterior, but it is in an otherwise extremely fine condition.
