Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge, by Gebrüder Wegerhoff
(Flakkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a narrow barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked with the logo of Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid, measuring 44.46 mm (w) x 64.14 mm (h), weighing 29.3 grams, with only slight loss of finish evident, in extremely fine condition.
