A superb lot of awards and documents to Oberfeldwebel Werner Fischer, who served with Sturzkampfgeschwader 3 (Dive Bomber Wing 3) during the North African Campaign, including: 1. A medal bar featuring three decorations, including a War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, pierced through the centrepiece with crossed swords, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed number “1939”, without visible marks, measuring 52.63 mm (w) x 51.38 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; an Anschluss Medal, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broke chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central date of “13. MÄRZ 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER”, unmarked, measuring 31.92 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition, and; an Italian-German African Campaign Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of two gladiators (symbolizing Germany and Italy) grappling with a crocodile (symbolizing Great Britain), the obverse bearing a raised depiction of the Arco dei Fileni flanked by a fasces and swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “ITALIAN-GERMAN CAMPAIGN IN AFRICA” in both Italian and German, the obverse maker marked “LORIOLI, MILANO”, measuring 30.84 in diameter, stitched onto the bar backwards but otherwise in extremely fine condition; all suspended from a 90 mm-long magnetic metal bar with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, in extremely fine condition. 2. An award document for an Anschluss Medal, constructed of off-white card stock, named to Fischer as an Unteroffizier of Sturzkampfgruppe I/168 Graz, dated 16 December 1938 and certified by a facsimile signature of Otto Meissner, measuring 21 cm (w) x 29.5 cm (h), with a central folding crease visible, in extremely fine condition. 3. An award document for a War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, constructed of off-white paper stock with multi-coloured ink, named to Fischer as a Feldwebel, issued at Staff Headquarters on 1 September 1941, certified by the handwritten signature of General der Flieger Hans-Ferdinand Geisler (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 4 May 1940), measuring 15 cm (w) x 21 cm (h), in extremely fine condition. 4. An award document for an Italian-German African Campaign Medal, constructed of off-white paper stock with multi-coloured ink, named to Fischer as an Oberfeldwebel of I./Sturzkampfgeschwader 3, 1. Staffel, issued on 1 August 1942 and certified by the handwritten signature of an unidentified Oberleutnant and stand-in Group Commander, measuring 15.5 cm (w) x 22 cm (h), in extremely fine condition. 5. An award document for an Afrika cuff title, constructed of off-white paper stock with multi-coloured ink, named to Fischer as an Oberfeldebel, issued at the headquarters of Oberbefehlshaber Süd (the Supreme Commander of the South) Generalfeldmarschall Albert Kesselring on 8 April 1942, certified by the handwritten signature of an unidentified Major, measuring 14.5 cm (w) x 20 cm (h), in extremely fine condition. 6. A promotion document, dated 25 November 1941 and elevating Fischer from Feldwebel to Oberfeldwebel, effective 1 December, certified by the handwritten signature of an unidentified Major and stand-in Arm Commander of Sturzkampfgeschwader 3, measuring 21 cm (w) x 30 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
