Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot’s Badge, by C.E. Juncker
(Flugzeugführerabzeichen). Constructed of nickel-silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN SW”, measuring 64.49 mm (w) x 52.59 mm (h), weighing 42.1 grams, demonstrating some hairline fractures to the reverse of the wreath, in overall better than very fine condition.
