Germany, Luftwaffe. A Rare Fallschirmjäger Badge, by G.H. Osang, c.1944
(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Instituted on 5 November 1936. An oval badge constructed of a zink wreath of oak leaves on the left side and laurel leaves on the right, tied with a ribbon at the bottom, riveted to the wreath is a gilded brass plummeting eagle with a swastika in its claws, the reverse presents a missing vertical pinback, maker mark “G.H. Osang Dresden” on eagle’s reverse, measures 41.42 mm (w) x 53.19 mm (h), weighs 29.2 grams, and in very fine condition.
