Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Luftwaffe. An Officer’s Sword, by Stocker & Co.

(Luftwaffe Offiziersschwert). A well-preserved Luftwaffe Officer’s sword, measuring 980 mm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 770 mm-long polished magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip, unspoiled edges, and with a fuller running just under half the length of each side. Stamped onto the reverse ricasso is a maker’s mark of “SMF, SOLINGEN” for the firm of Stocker & Co., situated below the company’s seated king logo. It sits firmly within an aluminum alloy crossguard which presents as a pair of curved and feathered wings. Inset into the centre of each side of the crossguard is a medallion bearing a gilded sunwheel-style mobile swastika. The handle grip consists of a single piece of curved wood wrapped in a layer of ribbed dark blue Moroccan leather, with the ribbon retaining a period original length of silver aluminum wire cord. The sword completes with a flattened and rounded pommel, constructed of an aluminum alloy and bearing double-sided, gilded, sunwheel-style mobile swastikas. The pommel screws in to securely maintain the sword’s structural integrity. It is accompanied by its period original scabbard, constructed of a boiled dark blue leather shaft featuring aluminum fixtures riveted to both the tip and throat. The latter features two integral loops for the accommodation of a sword hanger, and retains a functional spring catch to firmly hold the sword in place. Minor issues consistent with age and wear are evident, and include slight oxidation and running marks to the blade, moderate fatigue of the leather elements, and some loss of finish to the aluminum fixtures. The sword is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
