Germany, NSDAP. A 1937 NSDAP Göttingen 15-Year Anniversary Table Medal, with Case, by Schmal & Schulz
(NSDAP Göttingen Jubiläumsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded feinzink, the obverse with a raised coat of arms of Göttingen, overlaid by a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, flanked by a date of “8. 2. 37”, circumscribed by an inscription of “15 JAHRE NSDAP IN GÖTTINGEN” (“15 YEARS OF THE NSDAP IN GÖTTINGEN”), the reverse marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M/183” for Schmal & Schulz, Wuppertal, measuring 58 mm in diameter, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux brown leather exterior, the exterior of the lid bearing an inscription of “EHRENPREIS DES GAUS NR. 33 GÖTTINGEN”, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed white felt medal bed, opening with a functional spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 86 mm (w) x 86 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), with some loss of finish to the medal and material fatigue of the case, in overall very fine condition.
