(Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP). An extremely well-preserved and owner-attributed Golden Party Badge, constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, with a central black mobile swastika on a white enameled disc, within a red enameled ring bearing an inscription of “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P.” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST GERMAN WORKERS’ PARTY”), the reverse with a horizontal pinback, stamped with a NSDAP membership number of “77434” for Klaus Hinrich, maker marked “DESCHLER, MÜNCHEN”, measuring 23.78 mm in diameter, weighing 7.4 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, in overall near extremely fine condition, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Detlev Niemann.
Footnote: NSDAP member 77343 has been identified as Klaus Hinrich, a general labourer who joined the party on 1 March 1928. Hinrich was born on 1 December 1906 in Hademarchen, Schleswig-Holstein, and was a resident of Bendorf-Oesdorf at the time of issue. According to facsimile NSDAP paperwork, the badge offered was a replacement issued to Hinrich on 20 October 1937, after he had apparently lost the original badge.
