Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Decoration, I Class for 25 Years, with Case

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP, I. Klasse für 25 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939- 1945 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed and white enameled arms joined together through the quadrants by stylized sun rays, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a wreathed and gilded German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a wreathed and gilded inscription of “TREUE DIENSTE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“FAITHFUL SERVICE FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 42.22 mm (W) x 46.40 mm (h), weighing 23.7 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, in extremely fine condition, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux red leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), with minor exterior material fatigue evident, in near extremely fine condition.
