Germany, NSDAP. A Mint Long Service Award, II Class for 15 Years

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP, II. Klasse für 15 Jahre). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with blue enameled arms set within a ribbed frame, joined through the quadrants by stylized sun rays, the obverse bearing as central blue enameled disc overlaid by a silvered NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a central blue enameled disc overlaid by a silvered inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), in turn set within a circular oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 42.88 mm (w) x 46.95 mm (h), weighing 41.7 grams, a rare high-quality example in near mint condition.
