(Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps Besonderes Förderer-Abzeichen). A rare National Socialist Flyers Corps (NSFK) sponsoring member’s sleeve badge, constructed of dark grey wool, the obverse consisting of a hand-embroidered silver aluminum wire oak leaf wreath, with a central silvered bronze NSFK insignia, consisting of a stylized depiction of Icarus overlaid by a mobile swastika, within a ring topped by an inscription of “NSFK” and above a letter “F” (“FÖRDERER” or “SPONSOR”) flanked by oak leaves, the reverse with all three attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 78 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: According to “NSKK and NSFK: Uniforms, Organisation and History”, John R. Angolia and David Littlejohn, 1994, pages 400-401, the NSFK sponsoring member’s badge was awarded to leading members over the age of 18 who made monthly contributions to the group.
