Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years, with Case
(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei I. Klasse für 25 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.34 mm (w) x 47.86 mm (h), weighing 22.2 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux turquoise leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt embossed number “25” within an oak leaf wreath, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a grey velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), an extremely well-preserved example in near mint condition.
