Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Mint Long Service Decoration, I Class for 25 Years, with Case

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei, I. Klasse für 25 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central oval medallion overlaid by a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.18 mm (w) x 47.97 mm (h), weighing 25.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of two pieces of card stock with a faux dark green leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded and wreathed number “25”, the interior with a grey felt liner, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 16 mm (h), a matching set in overall near mint condition.
