Germany, RAD. A Reich Labour Service (RAD) EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle, by Friedrich Linden
(Reichsarbeitsdienst Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of aluminum, the obverse with a central raised shovel head bearing a mobile swastika, within a circular wreath of wheat stalks, the reverse with a loop and dual attachment prongs connecting to a period original brown leather strap, the latter retaining traces of a maker’s mark of “FRIEDRICH LINDEN, LÜDENSCHEID”, circumscribing a date of “1938”, the buckle measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
