Germany, SS. A Soldbuch & Collar Tab to Bela Pup, 25th Waffen Grenadier Division
(25. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS „Hunyadi“ (ungarische Nr. 1) Kragenspiegel und Soldbuch). This is a pair of personal effects belonging to Bela Pup, including a Soldbuch, measuring 105 mm (w) x 147 mm (h), and constructed of a card stock binding with 34 pages of paper. An SS-Mann of the 25th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Hunyadi, Pup was born 1 January 1925 in Hungary to Lajos Pup and Franciska Kiss, both farmers. Pup was a Roman Catholic and a bachelor upon enlisting in the SS on 24 January 1945 in Vienna. Pup’s last documented involvement with the SS occured on 10 April 1945, when he was inoculated against typhus and cholera by the SS medical division. The Soldbuch bears minor fatigue and soiling of the of the interior pages, but remains fully legible and has no loose pages, presenting in a near extremely fine condition. Also included is a collar tab, constructed of smooth black wool with a buckram core, bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey “H” insignia of the Hunyadi Division. The tab is unmarked and measures 40 mm (w) x 55 mm (l). Uniform-removed, it is in a near extremely fine condition.
