(SS-Dienstauszeichnung, II Klasse für 12 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1941 issue). A rare SS Long Service Award, II Class for 12 Years, constructed of silvered bronze, on an original teardrop-shaped suspension loop with a postwar replacement ribbon, the decoration consisting of a swastika with ribbed arms, the obverse bearing double raised Sig runes set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS”), unmarked, measuring 37.86 mm (h) x 42.18 mm (h), weighing 27.9 grams, with some loss of finish evident to the decoration, in overall near extremely fine condition.
