Germany, SS. A Waffen-SS EM/NCO’s Belt and Buckle
(Waffen-SS Gürtel mit Schnalle). A Waffen-SS EM/NCO’s belt and buckle, the former constructed of pressed blackened leather, one end completing in an integral non-magnetic metal clip, the opposite end featuring a hidden reverse tongue perforated with seven sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, the tongue end embossed on the reverse with a partially-legible maker’s mark and additional black ink stamp, measuring 4 cm (w) x 94 cm (l), with age-appropriate material fatigue throughout, in very fine condition; the buckle constructed of nickel-silver, the obverse bearing a central raised SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “MEINE EHRE HEIßT TREUE” (“MY HONOUR IS LOYALTY”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, maker marked with the logo of Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with some loss of finish and scratching evident, in near extremely fine condition.
