Germany, Third Reich. A 1938 Bound and Dedicated Poem to AH, with US Veteran Provenance
(Gedicht). An interesting and unique poem dedicated to AH, consisting of a heavy card stock binding with a faux brown leather exterior liner, the cover bearing an embossed and gilded inscription of “GEWIDMET DEM SCHPÖPFER DES GROßDEUTSCHEN REICHES, AH, 1938” (“DEDICATED TO THE FOUNDER OF THE GREATER GERMAN REICH, AH, 1938”), opening to reveal off-white paper stock pages bearing a handwritten poem dedicated to the Führer from Alois Buchhoffer-Rusch (a presumed Tyrolean German and Italian citizen), measuring 22 cm (w) x 28 cm (h), in extremely fine condition; notably accompanied by photocopies of sworn documents from Lieutenant Colonel Clarence R. Birbari, claiming that the accompanying binder was among a small trove of items he retrieved from Allied-occupied Berlin after the Soviets opened the city to the Western Allies.
