Germany, Third Reich. A Beer Hall Putsch Commemorative Plaque
(Bierkeller-Putsch Erkennungsplakette). Constructed of a black-painted octagonal wooden base, the obverse bearing a silvered bronze tablet featuring the names of the NSDAP members killed during the Beer Hall Putsch, topped by a NSDAP-style German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, above inscriptions of “UND IHR HABT DOCH GESIEGT” (“YET THEY WERE STILL VICTORIOUS”) and “MAHNMAL MÜNCHEN” (“MUNICH MEMORIAL”), with a magnetic metal suspension loop riveted onto the reverse, unmarked, measuring 166 mm (w) x 170 mm (h), with minor loss of finish visible to the silvered applique, in overall extremely fine condition.
