Germany, Third Reich. A German Driver’s Badge, III Class in Bronze, by L. Christian Lauer
(Deutsches Fahrer-Abzeichen, III. Klasse in Bronze). Instituted 16 May 1930. (1930-1945 issue). Constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a stylized belt and buckle around a raised letter “R”, with a central chariot and driver on a hollow background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “L. CHRISTIAN LAUER, NÜRNBERG”, measuring 39.97 mm (w) x 50.57 mm (h), weighing 17.7 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
