A bronze medal commemorating the Limes Programme of the 1938 Westwall (Siegfried Line) construction, the obverse presents a man digging over a symbol “GB” for the organization Grün u. Bilfinger, circumscribed with the statement “HAUPTUNTERNEHMER GRÜN U. BILFINGER A.G.” (Main Entrepreneur Grün & Bilfinger A.G.), the reverse shows a soldier behind a frontier fortification protecting a woman and child, surrounded by the words “LIMES 1938” AND “ABSCHNITT OFFENBURG” (Section Offenburg), with maker hallmark “BM,” on loop for suspension, measuring 35 mm (w) x 39 mm (h), and in extremely fine condition.
