Germany, Third Reich. A Lot of Badges and Insignia
(Abzeichen und Insignien). Constructed of silvered and patinated zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse bearing an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), above a crossed sword and laurel branch, topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 35.86 mm (w) x 44.34 mm (h), weighing 19.2 grams, with oxidation and loss of finish evident, in overall very fine condition; a 1st Fallschirm-Panzer Division “Hermann Göring” EM/NCO’s cap insignia, constructed of black wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika, unmarked, measuring 75 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a Heer Gebirgsjäger EM/NCO’s sleeve insignia, constructed of field-grey wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered multi-coloured edelweiss within a knotted ring, unmarked, measuring 56 mm (w) x 68 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
