Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges
(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of seven badges, including a 1944 Small Calibre Marksmanship Badge, constructed of gilded zink with multi-coloured paint, the obverse consisting of a Tyrol-style German national eagle clutching a bullseye target overlaid by a mobile swastika, flanked by a date of “1944”, and above an inscription of “KK-GEWEHR” (“SMALL CALIBRE RIFLE”), horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 40 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition; a HJ Labour Youth badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 23 mm in diameter, in very fine condition; a 1934 Labour Day badge, constructed of bronze, horizontal pinback, the reverse maker marked “C. POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 36 mm in diameter, with some oxidation evident, in very fine condition; a 1935 Labour Day Badge, constructed of aluminum, the reverse maker marked “ALEX. WOLLRAM JUN., DESSAU”, measuring 33 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), missing its pinback and with some oxidation evident, in poor condition; a 1935 Saar propaganda badge, constructed of magnetic metal, vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 29 mm (w) x 39 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a 1942 Ordnungspolizei off-duty officer’s badge, constructed of zink, horizontal pinback, the reverse marked “P12”, measuring 30 mm (w) x 27 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; also including an Imperial Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in very fine condition.
