Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Badges
(Abzeichen). A pair of badges, including: 1. A German Red Cross (DRK) Schwesternschaft (Sisterhood) badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a white enameled oval medallion bearing a DRK insignia, trimmed with a blue enameled border bearing a silvered inscription of “DEUTSCHES ROTES KREUZ SCHWESTERNSCHAFT”, the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a rounded catch, stamped with an issue number of “1296”, maker marked with the logo of Christian Theodor Dicke, Lüdenscheid, measuring 44 mm (w) x 30 mm (h), demonstrating minor flecking and loss of finish to the enamels and base metal, respectively, in near extremely fine condition. 2. A First World War patriotic badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled disc bearing silvered designs, trimmed with a white enameled border, and overlaid by a stylized 1914 Iron Cross, the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 33 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
