(Drittes Reich Ausweispapiere). A pair of identity documents to Dr. Hans Israel Gottschalk, born 12 February 1892 in Stulp, Pomerania (now Słupsk, Poland), including a Reisepass, constructed of an olive-grab card stock binding with 32 pages, the cover page with issue number “172139” and a letter “J” stamped in red ink indicating that Gottschalk was Jewish, with his occupation described as a “Junior Judge”, the subsequent page with a black-and-white photograph of the bearer and an issue date of 26 May 1939, with an entry visa for the United Kingdom issued at the British embassy in Berlin on 7 August 1939, a Belgian transit visa issued on 17 August 1939, a stamp from Deutsche Bank authorizing Gottschalk to travel with 10 Reichsmarks on 28 August 1939, an endorsement for leave to remain in the United Kingdom from the Swiss Legation in London on 29 May 1940, and an additional stamp from a British immigration officer in Fleetwood dated 8 July 1941, measuring 112 mm (w) x 164 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a British National Registration Identity Card, named to Gottschalk, stamped with an issue date of 29 July 1949, measuring 83 mm (w) x 125 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
