Germany, Third Reich. A Rare Silver and Diamond Germanic Folk Art Necklace, with Case
(Halskette in Silber mit Diamant und Etui). Constructed of silver, consisting of an oval pendant with ball finials distributed around the outer edge, the obverse bearing a raised Algiz rune inset with a diamond, situated above a raised mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central mobile swastika with cut-out voids between the quadrants, situated within cut-out oak leaf branches, topped by an integral loop and suspension ring retaining an original silver necklace with a functional clasp, the pendant stamped with a silver hallmark of “CLEMENT” and content number of “900”, the chain stamped with an additional hallmark and content number of “925”, the pendant measuring 35.54 mm (w) x 55.42 mm (h), weighing 28.3 grams (inclusive of chain), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the interior with a white satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a removable white doeskin bed, closing with a functional metal snap button, demonstrating moderate material fatigue to the case, a striking and unusual example of National Socialist-period German folk art jewellery in near extremely fien condition.
