Germany, Third Reich. An Air Defence Honour Decoration, II Class
(Luftschutz-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of aluminum, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribboned, the obverse bearing a central raised mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 39.20 mm in diameter, weighing 12.0 grams, with some staining of the base metal, in very fine condition.
