Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 36.18 mm (w) x 44.11 mm (h), weighing 24.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
An Ostmedaille certificate on cream coloured paper, in black ink. The document is dated 1 September 1942, stamped and signed. The document presents minimal scuffing at the edges and two holes punched on the left side. The bottom of the reverse is marked with pencil. Measuring 140 mm (w) x 200 mm (h). In very fine condition.
