Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Wehrmacht. A Dress Bayonet, by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie

(Wehrmacht Bajonett). A very well-preserved Wehrmacht dress bayonet, measuring 34.5 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 20.5 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and lower edge. The blade is plaint with the exception of a maker’s mark on the reverse ricasso of “WKC” for Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie, Solingen, topped by the firm’s classic knight’s helmet logo. The blade sits securely within a one-piece nickel-plated alloy hilt with a hooked quillon, hollow insertion slot with a functional push-button spring release, and with the seam covered by an intact blackened leather buffer pad. The handle grip is composed of two pieces of pebbled black bakelite secured together with dual magnetic metal rivets. The bayonet is accompanied by its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. Emanating from the side of the shaft is a downward-pointing hook for the accommodation of a frog. The throat retains a functional spring catch to firmly hold the bayonet in place during storage. Minor issues consistent with age and wear are evident, and include some running marks to the blade and minor loss of scabbard paint. The bayonet remains in an extremely fine condition.
