(Wehrmacht Papiere und Fotos). A lot of correspondence from Heer Knight’s Cross recipient Major Herbert Düppenbecker to noted militaria pioneer Lieutenant Colonel John R. Angolia, consisting of:

1. A two-page, German-language, handwritten letter to Angolia, printed in black ink on off-white paper, the opening page featuring Düppenbecker’s letterhead alongside a date of 14 November 1944, each page 21 cm (w) x 29.5 (h), with a central folding crease visible, in extremely fine condition.

2. Düppenbecker’s extensive curriculum vitae, printed and typewritten on off-white paper in black ink, measuring 20.5 cm (w) x 27 cm (h), folded into thirds, in extremely fine condition.

3. Three facsimile images of Düppenbecker’s award documents, consisting of one for the German Cross in Gold, the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, and a supplementary congratulatory document for the latter (signed by Generaloberst Josef Harpe), in overall extremely fine condition.

4. A postwar-printed studio portrait of Düppenbecker in uniform and with all awards clearly visible, with the lower half of the image overlaid by his handwritten signature in black ink, measuring 9 cm (w) x 13.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition; accompanied by an addition handwritten note from Düppenbecker and a postwar-printed studio portrait of Unteroffizier Johann Hlauschka, in extremely fine condition.

5. All secreted within a period original airmail envelope, constructed of beige paper stock, addressed to Angolia as a resident of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, similarly featuring Düppenbecker’s return address, measuring 25 cm (w) x 17.5 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
