Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Eastern People’s Medals
(Ostvolkemedaillen). A pair of Eastern People’s Medals, including one II Class Silver Grade with Swords, constructed of silvered zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, with a central raised rosette within a circular laurel leaf wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “100” for Wächtler & Lange, Mittweida, measuring 39.49 mm (w) x 45.47 mm (h), weighing 14.2 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; one II Class Bronze Grade with Swords, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, he obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, with a central raised rosette within a circular laurel leaf wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, unmarked, measuring 40.30 mm (w) x 45.14 mm (h), weighing 12.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), with most of the bronze finish lost, in overall very fine condition.
