A II Class Cross, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central wreathted mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “1” for Deschler & Sohn, Munich, measuring 48.10 mm (w) x 49.15 mm (h), weighing 19.4 grams, accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the exterior bearing an inscription of “KRIEGSVERDIENSTKREUZ 2. KLASSE OHNE SCHWERTER” and a maker’s mark of “DESCHLER & SOHN, MÜNCHEN”, 6 cm (w) x 10.5 cm (h), in near mint condition.
2. A I Class Cross with Swords, constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with pebbled arms, bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “1” for Deschler & Sohn, Munich, measuring 48.46 mm (w) x 48.38 mm (h), weighing 23.3 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a silvered depiction of the award, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black felt medal bed, unmarked, measuring 66 mm (w) x 66 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), the decoration demonstrating a patina consistent with storage conditions, an unissued example in near mint condition.
