Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Adolf Scholze
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy ground, with its left tread extending beyond the wreath, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “A.S.” for Adolf Scholze, Grünwald, measuring 43.04 mm (w) x 62.70 mm (h), weighing 28.9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
