Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by Adolf Scholze
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a Panzerkampfwagen IV on grassy ground with its left tread extending beyond the wreath, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Adolf Scholze, Gablonz, measuring 42.96 mm (w) x 62.58 mm (h), weighing 26.0 grams, minor loss of finish evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
