Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by Rudolf Richter
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Panzer VI rolling over grassy terrain and with its left tread extending beyond the wreath, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Rudolf Richer, Schlag bei Gablonz, measuring 41.90 mm (w) x 60.10 mm (h), weighing 34.4 grams, most of the silver finish has been lost, in overall very fine condition.
