Max bidding example:

Germany, Wehrmacht. A Set of Field Binoculars, with Case, by Emil Busch 1942

(Doppelfernrohr mit Etui). An extremely well-preserved and complete set of Wehrmacht field binoculars, constructed of a non-magnetic blackened metal alloy casing with black bakelite fittings. Joined together by a central adjustable metal tube, they retain fully-functional glass optics and eyepieces with a 6 x 30 magnification, as well as a range grid. A black leather strap emanates from the reverse of the grips, and retains a black leather eyepiece guard. A maker’s mark of “BUSCH, RATHENOW” is embossed near the right eyepiece for the firm of Emil Busch. The front of the right lens also bears a number of marks, including a magnification stamp of “6 x 30”, a crown, and a manufacture date of “1942”. The binoculars are accompanied by their period original case, constructed of a blackened non-ferrous metal shell. It retains a lid with a functional hinge and spring-loaded strap meeting an exterior stud for secure closure. Dual side loops retain an adjustable blackened leather carrying strap, with two additional exterior straps reinforcing the lid. One strap is similarly stamped with a manufacture of “1942”, a crown, and a number of “16100”. The case measures 180 mm (w) x 135 mm (h). Minor scratching and material fatigue is evident, but this complete set is in an overall extremely fine condition.
