Germany, Wehrmacht. A Set of Motorcycle/Dispatch Rider Gloves, by R. Ehekircher, c.1942
(Wehrmacht Handschuhe). An extremely well-preserved pair of Wehrmacht motorcycle/dispatch rider gloves, each constructed of field-grey cotton. Constructed gauntlet-style, the gloves each feature a separate channel for the thumb and index finger. Both palms are lined in smooth dark grey leather, affording the wearer a secure grip. Each glove has dual dark grey leather straps, both adjusted with an array of functional magnetic metal snap buttons, set onto the wrist and forearm for an adjustable fit. The inside of each glove is stamped with a black ink maker’s mark of “R. EHEKIRCHER”, with a manufacture date of “1942”, and a size stamp of “9”. Both gloves measure 410 mm (w) x 200 mm (w) at their widest points. With only minimal signs of wear, they are in an overall extremely fine condition.
