Germany, Wehrmacht. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, First Pattern
(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath with scalloped edges, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central raised Stahlhelm bearing a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38.16 mm (w) x 42.86 mm (h), weighing 11.7 grams, a first pattern or Condor Legion style badge in extremely fine condition.
