Germany, Wehrmacht. A Spanish Cross, Bronze Grade with Case, by C.E. Juncker
(Spanienkreuz in Bronze mit Etui). Constructed of bronze, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms, with a central mobile swastika within dual rings, the arms joined by Luftwaffe-style German national eagles clutching mobile swastikas, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 54.75 mm (w) x 55.40 mm (h), weighing 26.8 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux green leather exterior liner, the exterior of the lid bearing an embossed “LDO” insignia, the interior with a maroon satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted maroon felt medal bed, opening with a functional spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, measuring 75 mm (w) x 82 mm (l) x 28 mm (h), minor material fatigue is evident to the case, in overall near extremely fine condition.
